Dwayne Johnson sera Doc Savage

Dwayne Johnson aura le rôle de Doc Savage dans le film de Shane Blake.

Dwayne Johnson va devenir un super-héros à nouveau. Il aura en effet le rôle principal du film Doc Savage, qui sera réalisé par Shane Black pour Sony Pictures. Comme à son habitude, The Rock a annoncé lui-même la nouvelle via un post sur Instagram.

Ici, il rappelle les origines du personnage : ”Doc a été entraîné physiquement et mentalement depuis la naissance par son père et une équipe de scientifiques pour devenir l’être humain parfait et une intelligence de génie. Ses sens sont décuplés au-delà de notre compréhension. Il peut même identifier le parfum d’une femme à plus d’un kilomètre. Il est littéralement le maître de tout. Mais voici pourquoi je suis vraiment excité à l’idée de devenir Doc Savage : c’est un mec bizarre hilarant. Il n’a aucune grâce sociale en raison de son éducation, donc toutes les interactions qu’il a avec quelqu’un sont directes, bizarres, souvent gênantes et superbement hilarantes”.

Comic book fans around the world know that the cool thing about « Doc » Savage is that he’s the inspiration for Superman. First name Clark, called « Man of Bronze », retreats to his « Fortress of Solitude » in the Arctic etc etc. Doc was physically and mentally trained from birth by his father and a team of scientists to become the perfect human specimen with a genius level intellect. His heightened senses are beyond comprehension. He can even identify a women’s perfume from half a mile away. He is literally the master of everything. But here’s the #1 reason I’m excited to become Doc Savage.. HE’S A F*CKING HILARIOUS WEIRDO! Confidently, yet innocently he has zero social graces whatsoever due to his upbringing so every interaction he has with someone is direct, odd, often uncomfortable and amazingly hilarious. After speaking for hours w/ Shane Black I can see why the creator of Superman took only the best parts of Doc Savage and leaving the « weirdo » part behind. But to us, it’s that « weirdo » part that makes Clark « Doc » Savage dope! Dwayne Johnson, en ce moment en tournage sur Fast and Furious 8, indique qu’il commencera à bosser sur Doc Savage après Predator pour la Fox. Il vient aussi de signer Skyscraper, il sera aussi dans Jumanji, l’adaptation de jeu vidéo Rampage pour n’en citer que quelques films. Il est aussi toujours au casting de la série Ballers.

Le projet de film Doc Savage par Shane Black est en projet depuis 2013. Anthony Bagarozzi et Charles Mondry sont à l’écriture du scénario.
